Pentode chime, shaped for overdrive
Revue is a handbuilt, single-channel valve combo with a distinctive EF86 voice. Its carefully controlled EF86 stage is designed to retain that character while keeping noise and microphony in check.
The Smooth/Brilliant switch shapes the preamp: Smooth is darker and more compressive; Brilliant adds gain and high-frequency detail, bringing higher harmonics into focus. Turn up the Gain for layered overdrive, then use the post-phase-inverter master volume to find your level—from driven phase-inverter tone to a more open EL84 power stage. Roll back your guitar’s volume to clean up while keeping the EF86 chime.
Key features
EF86 centred preamp with Smooth/Brilliant voicing
Layered overdrive from pentode and long-tail-pair phase inverter
Post-phase-inverter master volume for driven tone at practical levels
Responsive EL84 power stage with a lively, natural edge
18w rated output
1×12-inch Celestion Greenback speaker
